Star Capes were released during the Beta Testing Period or the "Beta Days". They were considered rare, but they have been released in stores, which means they are practically worth nothing. It is a nonmember item that comes in nine different color varieties. Did you know that the price has increased over time from 150 gems to 200 gems. There is a Rare Star Cape that was worth 800 gems. Another variety of the cape is the Freedom Cape. It can be won in The Forgotten Desert Adventure or Sky High game. This item has been popular for many nonmembers who are just starting Animal Jam.
